This guide will walk you through the process of disabling IPv6 in Windows 10.
Step 1: Where to Start
Right-click the Network/WiFi icon ( or
) in your taskbar to open up this menu:
Click on Open Network & Internet settings.
Step 2: Change Adapter Settings
In the Network & Internet settings window, click on Change adapter options:
You will find a list of network adapters available to your computer. Right-click on your active network adapter (usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and select Properties:
Step 3: Disabling IPv6
In the Properties window, scroll down until you see Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
Un-tick the checkbox and click on OK to save the changes.
Step 4: Restart Computer
You have now disabled IPv6 on your computer, but you need to restart the computer in order for the changes to take effect.
