This article aims to assist you with performance optimization while playing Elyon.
REDUCE TEXTURE AND GRAPHICS QUALITY
This is a very effective way to improve your FPS (Frames per Second). This reduces the load on your hardware by lowering the quality of textures for objects, increasing the graphic performance of your computer.
We recommend putting the setting to the lowest possible, and if the performance is good enough for you, gradually increasing each setting until you hit an acceptable balance of good performance and good visuals.
Effects such as Shadows, shader detail and Anti-aliasing are used to improve Elyon's graphic quality, however these factors also will stress your hardware more.
Make sure that V-Sync (Vertical Sync) is disabled. While disabled, your FPS will be based on the max power of your VGA (Video Graphics Array).
If your actual FPS is not in sync with the Hz value of your monitor (ie: V-sync is disabled) you may see a “screen tearing” effect, where the picture seems like it’s cut in half.
In addition, you may turn off Power saving mode in-game, and turn on Enhanced Performance in Windows Power Settings. This will improve your Elyon gaming performance at the cost of using more power.
Though minor, every 'task' (such as outputting sound) your computer has to manage will affect your performance. You may try to disable ingame sounds/music completely to get a slight FPS/Performance boost.
DRIVERS AND RESOLUTION
By reducing the resolution that your game is running at, you reduce the raw pixel output of the hardware from your computer, thus reducing the overall load on the system. For example if you are using a 1920x1080 pixel display, try reducing it to 1280x720 display resolution or lower to see improvements. You may even find that changing the screen aspect ratio helps.
Hardware and game drivers are also extremely important to game performance, and require regular updates to make sure you are making the most of your hardware. Compared to the actual and early video cards drivers, this can have performance improvements of up to and around 25% for certain games.
To improve your frame rate, make sure you turn off any unused or resource-heavy applications that may be running. Even applications such as Skype or a web browser can hurt the performance of your game.
ERROR 20002 - OUT OF MEMORY
Please note that 32-bit Windows has an address space of 4GB. Part of that is used by system BIOSes and graphics memory. With a 256MB graphics card about 3.3-3.5GB of RAM can be addressed and used, assuming you have 4GB fitted.
If you fit a graphics card with 1GB of memory only about 2.6-2.8GB of the RAM would be addressable and usable. The only solution is that you have to install 64bit windows on your PC.
If you have a spare RAM slot(s) you can use them to upgrade the total ram in your system. Once you find your current ram make, size, model code and frequency, you can start to search for extra RAM sticks. 8GB is the minimum needed for Elyon, however16GB is recommended if you have multiple applications like Elyon + several browser tabs, music, and other tasks in the background.
